Some painters transform the sun into a yellow spot, others transform a yellow spot into the sun

Art Education through my eyes is the Sun, where as some might see a distant yellow spot that has minimal relevance to learning, I see pedagogical curriculum orbiting the arts, leading children to find happiness in learning. The visual arts fosters learning environments that teach creativity, critical thinking and questioning, in the pursuit to finding meaning in what we perceive through our most trusted sense. At a time where all the pressure is on testing and other learning modes, art education is the underdog that provides engaging learning experiences. I believe Art education encourages self expression that nurtures human development. Carefully planned lessons create opportunities for children to play while learning important objectives. A good teacher plans lessons that engage the mind, heart and body. I find that teaching the arts empowers children to use their imagination to solve the problems that disregards the impossible. No other subject creates a environment that encourages independent or group risk taking in learning, while providing a safety net for “happy mistakes”. Discipline based art education leads children to trust one's own intelligence and imagination. Children should be lead to discover the problems that can motivate learning. Being taught to only look for the answers does not create meaning or understanding in solving visual riddles. Educating children how to value and create a work of art is one of the highest learning objectives that last a lifetime. In my five years of experience in visual art education, I’ve taught multiple subjects in kindergarten through twelfth grade, that connect with my philosophy. Kindness in instruction delivery, supervising creative play and production, helping to open eyes by deciphering the visual elements and principles, and allowing our minds to seek the beauty of how your visual environment is organized, while curating original creations summarizes my educational philosophy. I have the privilege to connect my philosophy with numerous lives and am very grateful to help shape children’s character and self confidence in being happier human beings. Teaching Art transposes its positive experience everyday in my life.
